COLUMBIA, S.C. - (April 8, 2011) Columbia, S.C. will welcome about 100 special forces men and families as Celebrate Freedom Foundation celebrates American's Vietnam era veterans with the 13th Annual Celebrate Freedom Festival and Army Special Forces Association Regional Convention on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, 2011. The 13th Annual Celebrate Freedom Festival will be held on Saturday at Finlay Park in downtown Columbia from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In addition, a school education day will be held on Friday, as well as a Heroes of Freedom dinner at the Medallion Center to honor the Montagnard People, "The Forgotten Army." The festival on Saturday will feature living history displays, historic home tours and a free concert featuring J. Edwards Band, The Return, and MoTown recording artist Martha Reeves and the Vandellas,.

The 2nd Annual Vietnam Homecoming is themed "The Helicopter War." Vietnam helicopters such as the Huey, Cobra, Loach and OH-58 will be on display, along with military vehicles, living history, field encampments and reenactments. In years past, the Heroes of Freedom honored the Doolittle Raiders, Tuskegee Airmen, Navajo Code Talkers, "Triple Nickel" 555th Parachute Infantry, and Enduring Freedom Veterans.
