You can always fill up your time in Columbia SC with far more than 24 hours of things to do. But if you need at least 24 hours planned for you, here’s a guide to the food, events, shopping and history in North Columbia to enjoy this weekend. Recently dubbed NOMA, this district starts at north of Main Street and is poised to become one of the hippest little neighborhoods in Columbia SC.

Saturday

8 AM

Kick off the day at Indah Coffee where the coffee beans are roasted with care, according to their origin. Try an Iced Thai Coffee or Cubano -- they’re equally delicious. Plus, here you can get a seriously great backdrop for your Instagram photos (#thingsthatareimportant).

11 AM

Cornbread is as comforting as Southern food comes, and thankfully there’s a festival to enjoy all the cornbread this Saturday. Start the festivities at 11am with the Cornbread Brunch, featuring North Main favorites The War Mouth and Curiosity Coffee Bar. The Vino Garage will also be pouring the drinks with a special release from Cottontown Brew Lab, plus more local favorites like Hunter-Gatherer, River Rat Brewery + Bierkeller. Don’t miss the music (with regional favorites like Danielle Howle), plus festival fun like a cornbread eating contest.

2 PM

Ready to shop? You’ll want to get some inspiration for your house (and some decor) at spots like Carolina Imports and Copper Barn Furniture. Stock up on peanuts and popcorn from longtime local favorite Cromer’s, which recently moved to the North Columbia area. Enjoy a break from all the shopping with a sweet treat from Main Street Bakery or Sweet Temptations Bakery or a smoothie from Lamb’s Bread Vegan Cafe.

6 PM

Hey, batter, batter! Take in the fun as the Columbia Fireflies take on the Hickory Crawdads at Spirit Communications Park. There’s not a bad seat in this stadium that was named Ballpark of the Year in 2016, so enjoy classic baseball food and local beer while cheering on your team.

Sunday

8 AM

Keep things low-key today whether strolling the grounds of Columbia College, seeing historic sites like the Eau Claire Print Building, or revisiting Earlewood Park for a nature walk. If you're sticking around for a bit, enjoy lunch at The War Mouth for a true South Carolina menu.

While that’s a wrap on your 24 hours here, you’re welcome to stay and while away the hours with more restaurants, events, and other fun in Columbia SC. Come back to our blog for more trip inspiration and can’t-miss things to do in The Real Southern Hot Spot.
