5 Unforgettable Doughnut Stops In Columbia SC

Who doesn't love doughnuts? We kind of think it's a universal obsession. So, we've rounded up five local spots with unforgettable sweet-and-stickies, so you can treat yourself the #RealColumbiaSC way. Oh, and you should definitely hit all six stops back-to-back. You only live once, you know?
Adjacent to the South Carolina Fairgrounds and across the street from Williams-Brice Stadium, a visit to Columbia won’t be complete without a stop at Zombie Coffee and Donuts - the newest addition to Columbia SC's donut scene. Whether you’re in town for the fair, a football game or just passing through, be sure to stop by.
Another recent addition to #RealColumbiaSC's doughnut repertoire, Duck Donuts has been dominating our Instagram feed since it opened last year--and we aren't complaining. All doughnuts are made-to-order + customizable to each customer's unique taste. Although, we highly recommend the maple bacon (with real bacon on top) if you're feelin' wild, the BEC doughnut sandwich if you're feelin' ravenous, or the cinnamon sugar if you're feelin' something simple. Enjoy every sweet bite....and tag us in your pictures!
The new kid on Lincoln Street opened its doors in February of 2017 and is known for its wall-to-wall USC memorabilia and Southern-style menu items with a twist. Our pro-tip in honor of this important national holiday, though, is to order dessert first. 1801 has mini cinnamon sugar dusted doughnuts with sea-salt caramel sauce and whipped cream on the side for dipping. These doughnut holes are perfect for "sharing", but let's be honest - you'll probably want them all to yourself. We won't judge.
Local favorite Spotted Salamander is famous for its "croinuts" - a magical doughnut and croissant hybrid - and they were the first to sell them in Columbia. You'll need to get there early, because the treats and the best seats on the dreamy outdoor patio go fast. The flavors change daily, so check the specials board and prepare yourself to be amazed by concoctions like South Carolina peach and Oreo cookie butter.
The Kraken is where you'll find locals grabbing a quick post-work beer and a slew of elevated pub grub like lobster grilled cheese. The star of the menu, though? A peanut butter and Sriracha doughnut. How do those ingredients work so well together? Don't ask questions, just enjoy.
We hope you enjoy every bite! Share your #RealColumbiaSC doughnuts with us on Instagram and Twitter.
