With thousands of lights being strung, 1200 luminaries ready to be set and dozens of trees being decorated, Lake Carolina is ready to celebrate the upcoming holiday season at Harborside Lights on Friday, December 4 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Planned activities for the Harborside Lights celebration include photos with Santa, stocking decorating, hay rides, musical entertainment and horse drawn carriage rides. Festive holiday lights and other special decorations for Harborside Lights have already begun appearing throughout the community and are lighting up the spirits of residents and visitors alike.
"Every day, I see new decorations go up in the community and it looks just beautiful," said Andrea Recor, a new resident of the Harborside neighborhood and Lake Carolina's internet sales ambassador. "I can't wait to see how it all comes together when everything is lit for the first time after Thanksgiving!"
Also arriving after Thanksgiving are the fresh cut Fraser Fir trees from Plumtree, N.C. The trees will be on sale in Lake Carolina's Town Center starting Fri., Nov. 27 and also will be sold during Harborside Lights. A variety of specialty craft vendors and food vendors will be on hand at Harborside Lights as well for the holiday goers looking to get some of their gift shopping done.
Lake Carolina's own merchants will be hosting holiday open houses in Town Center and on the Village Green during the holiday celebration. Their stores will be decorated and ready to welcome visitors with a tasty, little treat and some family-fun activities.
"I can already feel the excitement growing around Town Center," said Shannon Peery, owner of HALO Salon in Lake Carolina's Town Center. "After seeing the lights for the first time last year, seeing how everyone from the landscaping team to the merchants come together to make this holiday celebration wonderful just amazes me!"
Peery, who began decorating her shop before mid-November, said that seeing the thousands of twinkling lights and witnessing the holiday spirit she described as "infectious" greatly influenced her decision to move to Lake Carolina.
