Having trouble thinking of the perfect holiday gift? Christmas is the perfect time to grab the hottest tickets in town, and Columbia has no shortage of hot tickets in 2020. Give the gift of music, theater, comedy and family friendly fun at the following events.

Theatre + Art

Broadway is coming to Columbia in a big way in 2020 at the Koger Center for the Arts. Wicked, The Color Purple, Cats, An American in Paris and Bandstand will all perform in 2020. You can still catch the Van Gogh and His Inspirations exhibit at the Columbia Museum of Art through Jan. 12, and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett will bring It’s Alive - Classic Horror and Sci Fi Art collection to CMA in February featuring 100 pieces including posters, toys, guitars, masks and sculptures.

Food + Festivals

Who wouldn’t want to be a part of the food and festivals popping up around the city seemingly all the time? F2T Productions has tickets on sale for its monthly Harvest Dinners and events like Smoke & Beer, Drink Pink Rose Festival, Tiki Fiesta and Bubble Q. And don’t spend another year listening to that friend or relative complaining about missing the Columbia Food and Wine Festival. Tickets for the 2020 festival, being held April 23-26, are on sale now and would make the perfect stocking stuffer.

Concerts

Several major concert announcements make it the perfect time to give the gift of a live show! Need a gift for the Rocket Man in your life? Saying goodbye is so hard for Sir Elton John that he’s continuing his farewell tour and making a stop at Colonial Life Arena in May. But the big names don’t stop there. Dianna Ross, K.I.S.S., Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean, Post Malone and Jill Scott will all be making appearances in Columbia next year. The popular Millennium Tour 2020 will also make a stop in Columbia in April. And don’t forget the little ones! Sesame Street Live comes to Colonial Life Arena in March and Baby Shark Live comes to the Township Auditorium in May.

For Jazz lovers, Boney James and Gregory Porter will appear at the Koger Center for the Arts in April and June.
