Are you a fan of 'maters? You know, good ol' South Carolina grown tomatoes. For its third year, the Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival celebrates the juicy - and tasty - tomato varieties being grown in backyards and on farms throughout the palmetto state, as well as the sustainable chefs and Columbia, SC restaurants who serve these garden gems.
On Sunday, July 15 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at City Roots urban farm in Columbia, SC, join Slow Food Columbia and Sustainable Midlands for a family-friendly, midsummer's evening event with an heirloom tomato tasting, live music, high quality food + drink vendors, tomato bobbing, a tomato potluck, the Tasty Tomato Contest, and old time festival fun. Come celebrate good, clean and fair foodways, and the TOMATO - champion of the home garden!
You'll find all sorts of delicious Southern fare including a tomato sandwich bar by Rosewood Market, Bone-In Artisan BBQ on Wheels and Pawley's Front Porch food trucks, good beer & wine, American Harvest Bloody Mary bar with mix by Spotted Salamander Catering, fresh-squeezed lemonade by Perry's Peanuts, and more.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs - or just take a seat on a bale of hay - for live music throughout the evening!
Live Music Line-up:4:00pm - 5:00pm DJ Scott Padgett
5:00pm - 5:45pm Prettier than Matt
6:00pm - 6:45pm Buck Stanley
