From the way this weekend looks, May is going to be a busy month in Columbia, SC and we can't complain. Arts & Draughts at the Columbia Museum of Art
A quarterly celebration of art, live music and great beer! There will be D.I.Y. art projects, interactive art Simon Says, admission to the Museum's new exhibit "Picasso: Master Prints" and much more. "Art, Drink & Be Happy" on Friday evening.

Irmo native and indie rock group Band of Horses singer-songwriter, Ben Bridwell, returns to the Columbia region for a show at the Township. Sing along to hits from grammy-nominated album Infinite Arms and from their 2012 album, Mirage Rock. Purchase tickets online, $30-35.

After stopping by the Market for your Saturday coffee, why not join a free guided tour of the South Carolina State House? Each hour on the half hour, you can tour the State House and get a historical look inside its development. Read our State House blog for a sneak preview. Free.
Blooming Butterflies at EdVenture Children's Museum
It's opening day for EdVenture's new exhibit! The "Blooming Butterflies" exhibit is a living exhibit that allows you to explore 20 species of butterflies and moths native to the Southeast. On opening day, EdVenture will celebrate with special activities like butterfly face painting, butterfly windsock crafts in the Aha Factory and games such as Pin the Monarch on the Milkweed and Proboscis Blowouts. EdVenture staff will be available to give special Butterfly Emersion Tours. Free with museum admission.

A full day of tailgating/free concerts across from Williams-Brice Stadium in the Garnet Way tailgating lots. Local bands kick off starting at 10:30 am and country music star Craig Morgan prepares you for the big concert.

Cinco De Mayo Celebration at the South Carolina State Museum
It's time for a fiesta at the State Museum! Bring the family for a true fiesta with crafts, games, pinatas, music and drinks & snacks. Free with museum admission.
