Fill in the Gap will display a unique exhibit featuring objects that have been acquired between 2013 and 2018. This addition to the State Museum's diverse collection reflects the individuality of South Carolina artifacts tied with elements in the state's history.
The exhibition contains items from all disciplines represented in the museum’s collection, including fossil finds, Catawba Indian and other South Carolina pottery, fine art by South Carolina artists and fascinating historical objects. Here, guests will also learn how curators work to conserve objects like an original Byrne telescope along with its parts.
In addition to showcasing never-before-seen items, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the process the museum undergoes to acquire, catalog, store and exhibit artifacts for the public.
