The first thing you'll notice when you visit Limestone College is that we are grounded in history. Founded in 1845, our campus is a unique combination of history and progress, with about half of our campus buildings included on the National Register of Historic Places. In fact, two of our student residence halls are in renovated historic buildings -- and include Internet access and cable in each room.
Small enough to know you, big enough for your success
Limestone College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college. We maintain a small student body of about 600 on-campus students and a well-qualified faculty (over 75% hold the terminal degree in their field). The combination of a small campus and a liberal arts emphasis provides our students with individual attention. Our student/faculty ratio is 13:1 so, unlike larger institutions, your faculty will know your name, understand your strengths and weaknesses, discover what makes you unique, and help you grow.
A Community of Learning
You'll find a warm and friendly community here on campus -- a community of learning. That's why we offer a wide variety of majors, plus special programs to ensure that our students develop intellectually. Limestone College offers the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Associate of Arts degrees. Especially popular areas of concentration include business administration, physical education (particularly athletic training), elementary education, social work, psychology and counseling, music, art and computer science. Teacher certification is available in most academic majors. An honors program involving special courses, seminars, and lectures is available for exceptional students. Advanced placement and credit are given for scores of 3 or higher on the AP examinations. A Program for Alternative Learning Styles (PALS) is available for qualified students with certified learning disabilities.
Lead, Develop, Grow
Becoming a whole, well-balanced person involves more than academic success. Because of our small student body, you'll find ample opportunity to immerse yourself in leadership opportunities, athletics, music and performing arts, and much more.
Limestone, a NCAA Division II member, offers intercollegiate competition for men in soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, golf, cross country, and tennis, and for women in volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, soccer, swimming, cross country, wrestling, and lacrosse. An Olympic-size pool is available for recreational use.
Students interested in performance have the opportunity to participate in several instrumental and choral ensembles or theater productions each semester in Fullerton Auditorium, a 975 seat auditorium and one of the finest performing arts facilities in the region.
