Saluda County is located in the western midlands of South Carolina. The county is about 40 miles west of Columbia and 40 miles northeast of Augusta, Georgia. The County consists of the municipalities of Saluda (county seat), Ridge Spring, Ward, and Monetta. Saluda County has a population of about 20,000. Primary industries include poultry processing and farming. Major agricultural products include peaches, livestock, soybeans, and timber.
