Rambo’s Fat Cat Biscuits

Named after the real cat of owners Renee and Todd, Rambo’s Fat Cat Biscuits is taking biscuit making to the next level. Goat cheese, smoked brisket, and mac & cheese are just a few of the fixings you’ll catch on their menu. But when it comes to gravy, you’ll find something new every week. From Guinness stout + pulled pork to vegetarian chorizo, the mouth-watering possibilities will keep you coming back each week to see what’s next. Be sure to order up a side of cheesy hash brown bake or blue corn grits with pimento cheese to complete your perfect meal.

Thirsty Fellow

Each Sunday in the Vista, you can indulge in signature brunch favorites like eggs Benedict, shrimps and grits, and of course, biscuits and gravy at Thirsty Fellow. Don’t be fooled that they’re only listed as a side on the menu. The size of these delicious, smothered biscuits is more than enough to fill you up. Kick back on the dog-friendly patio with a Bellini or Bloody Mary and dig in!

Café Strudel

Located in West Columbia and Lexington, Café Strudel has been a local favorite for over 20 years, serving up renowned plates like The Pre-Game and Famous Hangover Hash Browns. The restaurant’s delicious reputation makes it no surprise that their biscuits and gravy don’t disappoint. Order up a split biscuit drenched in pepper gravy and ground turkey sausage with a glass freshly squeezed OJ to wash it down with.

Bubba’s Biscuits

Bubba’s Biscuits is your go-to spot in Lexington. Trust us, these aren’t your grandma’s biscuits and gravy. Sure, you can stick to what you know, or you could be adventurous and try one of their offerings like the Hamster boasting ham, a fried egg, and covered in classic gravy, or The Boss, which gives the classic a Philly Cheesesteak twist plus a fried egg. You can even build your own if you want to try your hand at creating your own savory creation.

Main Course

In the center of downtown, Main Course never ceases to amaze us with its flavorful offerings, especially for brunch. Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. is where you want to be to catch their brunch buffet, dishing up fresh omelets, chicken and waffles, and our favorite, biscuits and gravy. Buffet not your style? Try one of their entrees like Big Momma’s Breakfast Sandwich (a honey-glazed biscuit topped with fried chicken and sausage gravy). Brunch isn’t quite complete without libations, so be sure to ask for a mimosa with your choice of fresh juice (pineapple or mango nectar, anyone?) or a Beer-mosa for the craft brew lovers.

The Original Brunches

Here at The Original Brunches, there’s no shortage of delicious breakfast plates to choose from. For some of the best biscuits and gravy in town, go straight to the “From the Gravy Train” section of the menu. Choose from sausage or white gravy and your choice of a warm biscuit or Texas toast for your base.

Good Life Café

For all the vegetarians and vegans out there, don’t worry, Columbia’s original vegan restaurant, Good Life Café, has got you covered. Breakfast & brunch are served 7 – 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, and amongst the delicious and nutritious offerings you’ll find biscuits and gravy and sausage biscuits and gravy served with grits from the local Adluh Flour Mill.

Main Street Public House

While it might be known for its New York-style pizza, Main Street Public House also knows how to cook up brunch. Every Sunday you can treat yourself to their buttermilk biscuits topped with sausage gravy paired with a full serving of thick grits. Add on the fried chicken to give your meal that extra kick.
