Thousands invade Columbia, S.C. for War of the Stars competition
 

COLUMBIA, S.C. - (March 1, 2011) - Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center will host Ultimate Cheerleading Federation and American Cheer X-treme's War of the Stars March 4-6. This is the largest cheer event ever hosted in Columbia. Over 3,000 athletes will be competing in front of 5,000 exuberant fans over the course of the weekend. Expected direct economic impact for this event is over $600,000.

 

 

Event times are as follows:

Friday, March 4:
Doors open at 2:00 p.m.
Competition from 3:00-8:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 5:
Doors open at 7:00 a.m.
Competition from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 6:
Doors open at 7:00 a.m.
Competition from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

The event is open to the public. Admission for spectators is $10 on Friday. Saturday and Sunday event charge is $20 for one day admission or $30 for both days. Food concessions will be available.
