Malls

Columbia is home to several malls, offering something for every shopper. Our weather allows for outdoor shopping almost year-round, but there are also options for visitors who want to come in from the cold (or beat the heat!) Our malls and shopping centers offer a blend of local and national retail and restaurants and you’re bound to find what you need.

Columbia’s largest mall is Columbiana Centre, located a short drive up Interstate 26 in Harbison. The mall is anchored by Belk, Dillard’s, and J.C. Penney, with around 100 additional stores, boutiques, and restaurants. Columbiana is also home to Dave and Buster’s, a 60,000 square foot “eatertainment” complex where people of all ages can have a blast.

Richland Mall is near the center of town. Though the mall has gone through many changes over the years, the large Barnes & Noble and a rooftop movie theater keep the parking lot populated. The mall also houses Columbia Children’s Theatre, a professional theater where kids can see a fun show, take a class, or even begin their journey to stardom by performing in a show.

Nearby, shoppers can enjoy two outdoor shopping centers, Cross Hill Market and Trenholm Plaza, both of which offer local and national shops and restaurants, and plenty of neighborhood hospitality. Cross Hill is home to Ulta and Whole Foods and several casual restaurants, including Thai, Mediterranean, and barbecue options. Foodies are flocking there for Duck Doughnuts, a specialty shop offering made to order confections that taste as good as they look on Instagram.

Trenholm Plaza is anchored by Fresh Market, Steinmart, and Publix, and is peppered with smaller specialty stores, including Anthropologie and J. Crew. At Trenholm Plaza, you can shop for a couple hours, grab a quick coffee at Starbucks, shop some more, and enjoy an outdoor dinner at Rosso or Tazza, both of which offer chef-driven menus and wine lists to complement them.

In northeast Columbia, the Village at Sandhill is a favorite for shoppers who like to get it all done in one place and enjoy the weather while they’re at it. The outdoor shopping center has something for everyone, including clothing for the whole family, fine jewelry and art, a movie theater, home goods, and plenty of great restaurants for when you’re ready to take a break and refuel for more shopping.

Columbia’s malls and shopping centers have everything you need when you’re craving a day of fabulous finds, gracious hospitality, and plenty of fun.
