Columbia Fireflies
Mascot: Mason the Firefly
Team Colors: Navy, Neon Yellow, Neon Green, and Silver
The Columbia Fireflies — a Low-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals—are Columbia SC’s official Minor League Baseball team. The momentum started in April 2016 when the Fireflies won their first-ever home game, kicking off a banner season. The Fireflies' team name was inspired by the synchronous fireflies that congregate in Congaree National Park each spring, and as a nod to its namesake, portions of the player’s uniforms glow in the dark. Put on your navy, neon and silver, grab your peanuts and crackerjacks, and head to Segra Park from April through the beginning of September, to watch the Fireflies at bat. Tell Mason we sent ya!
Lexington County Blowfish
Mascot: Blowie the Blowfish
Team Colors: Red, White, and Blue
The Lexington County Blowfish are a summer collegiate team that undoubtedly packs the house each season. For affordable tickets and a rollicking good time, head over to the Lexington County Baseball Stadium and watch these "Boys of Summer" step up to the plate. A part of the Coastal Plain League, the Blowfish were named in honor of one of Columbia SC’s greatest claims to fame: Hootie & the Blowfish. As a tribute to their namesake, the Blowfish play a Hootie song for you to jam out during each home game. A visit to the Blowfish's home base wouldn't be complete without a "Blowie Snowie" shaved iced (trust us, the adults will love them just as much as the kids do), and a picture with Blowie himself!
South Carolina United Bantams
Mascot: Bantam
Team Colors: Red, Blue, and White
Soccer fans, rejoice! Columbia is home to a pre-professional team, the SC United Bantams. They’re an Under 23 Team that participates in the USL League Two. You can catch them playing at a number of fields across the Columbia region.
