When summer comes around, nothing sounds more delicious than classic cookout foods like hot dogs and hamburgers. But we know sometimes life gets busy (or maybe you just want to spend more time on the lake) and you need someone else to do the work for you. We’ve gathered a list of several spots with delicious ‘dogs in Columbia SC – because, sometimes, there’s just nothing better.

Crave Artisan Market

Perhaps the holy grail of the classic hot dog in this Capital City, the Hagood Hot Dog from Crave Artisan Market on Milwood is so dang good, you’ll convince yourself you can finish two.

Jake’s

At Jake’s on Devine Street, hot dogs are deep fried and served up on Chicago Style Buns. Choose from several varieties like the “Skyline” (brown mustard, red onion, chili & cheddar cheese) or the delicious Pimento Cheese Ripper that made it into our Pimento Cheese Passport

Sandy’s Hot Dogs

A Columbia SC institution founded in 1979, the hot dogs at Sandy’s will make you feel right at home. Although you can order something a bit different like the Chicago Dog or the Kraut Dog, we recommend Sandy’s Famous Super Slaw dog—because sometimes you just don’t mess with the classics.

Sweet Pea’s

If you like a scoop of ice cream to follow your hot dog indulgence (us, too), stop into Sweet Pea’s and order the hot dog special – two all beef dogs with homemade chili, chips and a drink. Yes, please.

Jimmy’s Mart

Jimmy’s Mart is your place if you’re the no frills, no nonsense type. Here, we recommend going with a plain dog with mustard and chili. Trust us, it will hit the spot.

Also try: Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, Zesto's, Rush's and Top Dawg Tavern.
