With all the great bars and breweries around Columbia SC, it’s no surprise that our pub grub game is pretty strong. And while we’ve got a whole blog dedicated to brewery food, today we’re dedicating some time to a fan favorite: the soft pretzel.

Savage Craft

The softest pretzel award goes to Savage Craft’s Bavarian Pretzel. Truly, it practically melts in your mouth. This snack is served with Hazy IPA beer cheese and Lusty Monk Mustard and if you’re smart, you’ll ask for extra beer cheese.

Craft and Draft Irmo

Long known as the craft beer holy land here in Columbia SC, Craft and Draft Irmo is also showing out with a fantastic menu. Named for the coastal town about 3 hours from here, the Pawleys Island Pretzel goes with just about any beer you find on tap or in their extensive cooler selection.

Aristocrat

While Oktoberfest fans may disagree, pretzels aren’t exclusively a beer food. The Aristocrat serves The Hanging Pretzel, so large they have to bring it to you hanging on a stand rather than on a plate. Order the Dealers Choice cocktail and dunk a piece of this twisted treat into their sweet honey mustard.

Wurst Wagen

These pretzels are on the move, so keep an eye on the Wurst Wagen’s website to see where you can find them around Columbia SC. Get a true German experience with a Wurst of your choice and a pretzel on the side.

Steel Hands

What better place to enjoy a soft pretzel than in one of Columbia SC’s favorite biergartens? Locals and visitors alike flock to Steel Hands for their craft brews and bar bites including a delicious soft pretzel.

Crescent Café

The South Carolina State Museum boasts hours of learning fun and the Crescent Café for when you need to refuel. Stop by for a sweet tea and classic soft pretzel while heading from the natural history exhibit to the 4D Interactive Theater.
