Each March, for 41 years, locals and visitors alike have donned their best green garb and made their way to Five Points to celebrate at the famed St. Pat's Festival. As luck would have it, the festival lives on in 2024. For those who are new to this tradition and those who return year after year, read on to prepare for South Carolina's largest St. Patrick's Day Celebration.
Where to Stay
Columbia SC is home to many hotels, ready to welcome you for St. Pat’s Weekend. Close enough to walk to Five Points, Graduate Hotel is bursting with color and charm. If you’re interested in exploring more of the city, check out the Holiday Inn on Main Street or the Hyatt Regency in the Vista. Laying your head on their comfy pillows will be the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow.
The Green Scene
Green Beer
Okay, okay it doesn’t have to be green. You’ll find local beers and the more traditional Guinness on tap throughout the festival.
Green Fountain
It’s an iconic spot to snap a picture any time of year, but especially during St. Pat’s. The fountain is dyed green, making it the perfect backdrop to your Instagram post. Just don’t forget to use #RealColumbiaSC!
Get to the Green
While we like to say that this day is marathon not a sprint, we’ll allow sprinting (or strolling if that’s your style) during the Get to the Green race. Don your best green running gear and take on the 5K, 10K or 1 Mile Family Fun Run.
Greene Street Stage and Beyond
And now for the main event! Each year St. Pat’s brings in local and national performers. Across 5 stages, locals and visitors can jam out with the likes of Lawrence, The War and Treaty, Futurebirds, and more. All concerts are free with entry to the festival.
