It doesn't take long to realize that Columbia SC is a dog-friendly city. Grabbing a drink from one of our local breweries? Dogs. Strolling through the Soda City Market on a Saturday morning? Dogs. Cheering on the Columbia Fireflies on a Wednesday night? You guessed it, more dogs. We love that the capital city is welcoming to both two and four-legged visitors alike. A few of our Columbia SC ambassadors, who also identify as dog moms, are sharing their pups' favorite spots around the city.

I love being able to bring my furry best friend along for adventures around Columbia! Bagel enjoys trips down to Soda City for locally baked dog treats and friendly meetups with other pups. He also enjoys basking in the fresh air alongside the Riverfront while I enjoy a cold beer with Bierkeller. When we want to make an escape from the city, we enjoy the trails nearby at Sesquicentennial Park where he always stops to smell the flowers.

Chip and I love taking our Labradoodle, Henry, to Soda City nearly every Saturday morning. After we stroll Main Street, we usually venture over to Gourmet Shop - where Henry is basically a local celebrity. The team loves him as well as folks who walk by our table as we enjoy brunch alfresco. From bites to sips, we also love toting Henry along when we meet friends at Craft & Draft. This dog-friendly watering hole is perfect for pups and their humans alike!

Queso’s ideal day of fun around Columbia would include an early morning stop out at the State Farmer’s Market for some plant shopping, followed by lunch on the patio at San Jose in West Columbia or Real Mexico on Bush River Road. We also love strolling along the dam at Lake Murray and strolling in the sun along the Riverwalk. We also keep our eyes out for opportunities to take him to events that he normally wouldn’t get to attend like “Bark at the Park” events, one of which recently took place at Founders Park while we took in a South Carolina baseball game.
