There’s no such thing as a person who doesn’t like tacos, right? So we’re pretty sure this blog is going to be quite the crowd pleaser. We’ve rounded up a few of Columbia SC’s best taco joints. If we left out your favorite taqueria, drop it in the comments. We’re always on the hunt for our next great bite.

Real Mexico

As if the name didn’t already give it away, Real Mexico is the real deal. Perfectly fresh and warm corn tortilla cradle expertly seasons meats. We’re a fan of the carnitas, but you can’t go wrong with anything on this classic menu.

Los Chicanos

If you happen to see this food truck parked somewhere around Columbia SC, pull over and place and order. You can usually find Los Chicanos at the Soda City Market on Saturday mornings, and while everything they make is delicious, we have to recommend the breakfast special. If you're looking for this bright blue truck for your Cinco de Mayo celebration, you can find them at WeCo Bottle and Biergarten

Moctezuma

Two locations in the Fort Jackson area serve up authentic tacos for only $2 a piece, so it's the perfect place to get your fill of everything from Al Pastor to Chorizo con Papas. Be sure to order a large queso and large margarita to help wash it all down.

COA

COA Agaveria and Cocina takes crafted to a whole new level. While their menu is packed with thoughtfully created dishes, the tacos are a must. If you're looking for seafood, ask for an order of the Tacos del Pez or Camaron. Pair with a seasonal cocktail or their classic margarita for a winning evening.

Family Fresh Mex

Get your taco fix anytime of day in the heart of downtown Columbia SC. Family Fresh Mex Taqueria is open from 7:00am-10:00pm serving delicious and authentic bites just across the street from the SC State House

Tacos Nayarit

A plate of classic street tacos is in order at Tacos Nayarit. This brightly colored establishment also boasts some delightful desserts to follow your dinner.

Cantina 76

Whether on Devine Street or Main Street, Cantina 76 is a creative taco lovers dream. Locals flock to Cantina for Peruvian Shrimp Tacos and Chicken Teriyaki and a pitcher of strawberry basil margaritas.

Publico

Latin Asian fusion is the name of the game at Publico in Five Points. Classics like carnitas share space on the menu with more inventive tacos like bulgogi beef and banh mi. This fiesta isn't complete without one of their signature drinks. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo on their patio with $5 margaritas, watermelon margs, and spicy Publico margs, $7 peach margaritas, and $9 frozen margs + frozen mango margs.
