Country music and southern roots have long been intertwined. And if you’re looking for a boot-stomping good time all the way through the summer and into the fall, Columbia SC has a slate of country (and folk and bluegrass) music concerts coming riiiight up.

97.5 WCOS June Jam Party | The Senate

June 5th Matt Stell,

June 12th Tenille Towns with guest Tyler Rich

June 19th Brandon Lay with guest Lauren Alaina

June 26th David Lee Murphy with guest Haley & Michaels

Wednesdays in June are all about breakout artists and familiar favorites at The Senate.

Parmalee | Icehouse Amphitheater

Wednesday July 3

You can’t get much more American than listening to a country band on Fourth of July Eve at an outdoor amphitheater. Bring your blanket and plan to enjoy a sultry summer night under the stars and sing along with Parmalee’s hits.

Sweet Sweet | The White Mule

Thursday July 11

Vocal harmony, smooth cello and a whole lot of foot-stompin’ acoustic guitar coming to The White Mule in July. Sweet indeed.

Tyler Farr | The Senate

Friday July 12

Follow the locals to The Senate, a 1,200-capacity venue in the heart of the Vista district to hear Tyler Farr on his 2019 US tour. There’ll be plenty of his self-described “heartbreak ballads” with some hardscrabble honky tonk, too.

Black Water Shine | Carolina Western Pub

Saturday July 13

Friday November 15

If you’re a regular at CWP, you’re probably two steps ahead of everyone else after those free line dancing lessons. And you’ve probably also heard local Columbia SC group Black Water Shine, as they have several dates coming up on the CWP lineup. It’s a good time, y’all.

The SteelDrivers | The Senate

Thursday September 5.

Don’t pigeon-hole this Nashville-based based band into one genre. Much like their former-bandmate Chris Stapleton’s sound, you’ll find influences from classic rock, bluegrass, country, folk and more.

Hootie & The Blowfish | Colonial Life Arena

September 11, 12 and 13.

Hootie is just about as local as they come here in Columbia (and country, for all intents and purposes), and we’re counting down until the boys are back in town for three glorious shows. Get your tickets now before they’re gone.

Carrie Underwood | Colonial Life Arena

September 29, 2019

The mega-star returns to the Colonial Life Arena on her Cry Pretty Tour 360, with an all-female lineup including Maddie and Tae and Runaway Jane. Fun fact: Runaway Jane bandmate Jennifer Wayne is real-life granddaughter of John Wayne.

Alabama | Colonial Life Arena

October 3, 2019

The boys from Fort Payne, Alabama venture back to South Carolina, not too far up the road from their days playing at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, for a show stopping good time to include all your favorite hits and the Charlie Daniels Band to boot.

South Carolina State Fair

October 9-20

The South Carolina State Fair Celebrates its 150th birthday (and not one single wrinkle!) with all your favorite foods and rides and, of course, a star-studded lineup of country music.

Miranda Lambert | Colonial Life Arena

November 8, 2019

Another female-powered lineup storms into Columbia SC with Miranda Lamber’s Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour, featuring Maren Morris, Elle King and the Pistol Annies.
