Rockaway Athletic Club
Its name may sound a little deceiving, but this "club" is actually - you guessed it - a beloved burger joint. Keep your eyes peeled on Rosewood drive for a brick building with no signs, it's easy to miss but worth the hunt. Known for their pimento cheese (a southern staple!), Rockaway's serves both pimento cheese fries as a side and a delicious pimento burger that locals rave about.

Speaking of pimento cheese, you can make your Monday a little better with DiPrato's Monday lunch special - a bacon and pimento cheeseburger. DiPrato's is famous for their pimento cheese, and adding it to a burger with some lettuce, tomato, purple onion and bacon makes it untouchable. See the picture above for all the persuasion you'll need.
Pawley's Front Porch
Pawley's has been featured on "Diners, Drive-ins & Dives" on the Food Network and Southern Living - deservedly. Since then, visitors know not to leave Columbia without stopping at this well-known gem. Pawleys is famous for its delicious cooked-to-order burgers named after cities on the South Carolina coast - such as the Kiawah, Sullivan's, Isle of Palms and Edisto. Guests love trying different burgers like the Fripp Island burger, topped with southern salsa, boursin cheese and a fried green tomato. Speaking of fried, don't skip out without ordering the fried pickles or fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. View their full menu.
