Whether you’re a devout iced coffee drinker or simply crave it in the summer months, boy is this the list for you. Check out some of the concoctions our local coffee shops are offering to keep you feeling refreshed all summer long.
Thai Coffee | Indah Coffee
Cinnamon and sweetened condensed coconut milk complement Indah’s Nitro Cold Brew in a way that will have you hooked after the first sip. Pick one up at one of their two locations around town or stroll with one in hand at Soda City Market.
Iced Mint Dream or Coconut Cream Cold Brew | Silver Spoon Bake Shop
Silver Spoon on Devine Street might be known for their delicious baked goods, but their new selection of summer coffees have certainly caught our eye. The Iced Mint Dream offers an extra cooling factor, while the Coconut Cream Cold Brew is practically a vacation in a cup.
Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte | Curiosity Coffee Bar
Curiosity Coffee Bar in Cottontown offers a truly innovative menu to get you started on your day. Not only does the verdant hue of the Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte just scream summer, but the superfood benefits will have you feeling great, too. And if this is your first foray into the world of matcha, the vanilla adds an approachable sweetness to the plant-based beverage.
Coffee Sodas | Blum Coffee
The newest coffee shop in town has already carved out its niche in the market with a focus on herbal syrups and ingredients made in-house from an onsite garden. Blum has also showed us that coffee and carbonation is a surprisingly delightful combination with their Coffee Sodas that come with either hibiscus-lime, crystallized orange-rose, grapefruit-rosemary or ginger-honey flavoring.
The Perfect Frappe | Loveland Coffee
Check out Loveland Coffee in Irmo and order up The Perfect Frappe. Maximized Living chocolate protein, almond milk, cold brew, banana, honey and cinnamon is a power combo that’ll have you ready to tackle any task.
Iced S’mores Coffee | Blue Flour Bakery
Let’s face it, it’s way too hot out to gather around a campfire to make s’mores. Instead, opt for all the same chocolate-y, marshmallow-y, graham cracker-y goodness over ice courtesy of Blue Flour Bakery in Irmo and on Main Street. Oh, and the added bonus of caffeine doesn’t hurt, either.
Cold Brew Float | 72 Coffee Company
The cutest little mobile coffee and cocktail trailer can often be found at Soda City Market on Saturdays or at various events around town. With temps rising, it’s time for the return of their *genius* Cold Brew Float, featuring a scoop of Sweet Cream Co.’s Madagascar Vanilla ice cream. Now pick your jaw up off the floor and get you one STAT.
Cinnamon Lavender Iced Coffee | The Haven Coffee House
You may be familiar with a vanilla lavender coffee, but have you ever heard of cinnamon and lavender? Surprising as this pairing may be, it’s quite the hit at this quaint coffee house in Lexington. And with about 15 different syrups available on the menu, you can keep experimenting until you’ve discovered the next great match-up yourself.
Perfect Man | Cool Beans
He does exist - at Cool Beans! And he comes with a double shot of espresso, Irish Cream and half-n-half for those days when a plain coffee just won’t cut it.
Iced Chai Latte | Grace Coffee Co.
Where are our chai fans at? Probably at Grace Coffee Co., where they’ve mastered the art of striking the perfect balance between spicy and sweet.
Espresso Milkshake | Drip
Perfect for when you need an afternoon pick-me-up, but are also feeling indulgent, Drip will blend espresso beans and caramel, mocha, white mocha or caramel mocha flavoring together into a thick and velvety milkshake. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream, of course.
Iced Whiskey Barrel Aged Coffee | Sweet Cream Co.
Proving this purple-walled parlor is so much more than ice cream and treats, Main Street’s Sweet Cream Co. also serves up a bold brew by way of an iced whiskey barrel aged coffee. Now that’ll put some pep in your step.
Iced Katniss Everdeen | The Coffee Shelf
A book lover’s paradise, The Coffee Shelf in Chapin invites you to read and shop for books while enjoying your coffee. In keeping with the theme, the special drinks are all named after characters in literature – Hermione Granger, Tyrion Lannister and Eeyore, for example. The Katniss Everdeen pairs cinnamon and cherry together for a woodsy flavor profile that’s certainly unexpected.
For that extra buzz….
Frozen Irish Coffee | Home Team BBQ
Sure, everyone’s heard of the Game Changer, but don’t sleep on Home Team BBQ’s Frozen Irish Coffee. Topped with smoked salt and cocoa nibs, it’s a heavenly jolt that transitions seamlessly from day to night.
Indah Espresso Old Fashioned | Hendrix
We recommend sipping on this smooth cocktail, made with Four Roses bourbon that’s been infused with Indah Coffee’s Espresso #5 and topped with an espresso bean garnish, while sitting on the Hendrix rooftop at sunset for the ultimate experience in sophistication.
Coffee Lager | Steel Hands
