Whether you’re coming into town for Memorial Day Weekend in May, extending a June or July college tour to get to know the city a bit better, or are one of the thousands of lucky folks who scored tickets to the Manchester United vs Liverpool match in early August, we’re here to help you make the most of your 3-day weekend in Columbia SC.

Friday

Staying in downtown Columbia gives you the chance to easily stroll from attractions to restaurants or follow your bliss through several walkable downtown districts. The Cambria in the Vista boasts a lovely hotel bar just steps away from iconic public art. The Holiday Inn Columbia – Downtown puts you right next to the Saturday Soda City Market on Main Street, an absolute must on any weekend visit to Columbia SC. Find the perfect hotel for your visit here.

Once you’ve settled in, make your way to the West Columbia Riverwalk to stretch your legs. This 15-mile, ADA accessible trail is a delight any time of year, but especially during the warmer months.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, take the short walk over to Black Rooster to enjoy their thoughtfully curated Italian menu with some of the best skyline views in the region.

If you still have room after dinner, Main Street welcomes you for a twinkly light strewn stroll on your way to either Sweet Cream Co. for a creative scoop or Lula Drake for a cozy glass of wine and crepe.

Round out the night with a jazzy jam sesh at The Joint or a little friendly competition at Transmission Arcade Bar, whichever suits your fancy.

Saturday

Locals and visitors alike start their Saturday mornings at the Soda City Market on Main Street. This makers market stretches over several blocks and includes coffee, international food, crafts, fresh produce and buskers to keep the vibes high.

We’ll be honest though, an outdoor market in the summertime in South Carolina can get a bit warm, even with an iced coffee in hand. Pop into the Columbia Museum of Art to peruse their impressive permanent collection or head down to The Vista to explore the South Carolina State Museum

Speaking of our local museums, you would be remiss if you didn't consider our Culture Pass – an affordable ticket that gets you admission to Columbia Museum of Art, Historic Columbia and the South Carolina State Museum.

Continue exploring all that Columbia SC has to offer by sampling some locally brewed beer. Columbia Craft’s Alien Hat is a favorite summer sip around here. If your crew isn’t all beer lovers, Savage Craft Ale Works offers all manner of libations.

Take a quick break to freshen up at your hotel before heading out for the evening. Dinner at The War Mouth is a must for any Southern food lover.  Score a spot on the patio and buckle in for a delicious meal from the cheese straws appetizer to the bourbon pie dessert.

Sunday

On Sunday morning, Hampton Street Vineyard offers a delightfully charming brunch featuring an assortment of Eggs Benedict preparations alongside French inspired dishes.

Walk off brunch in the Historic Columbia gardens, filled with native plants and educational information to inform your explorations. Check their online calendar for Free Sunday tours of select historic homes.

If you’re more into shopping historic items than touring them, don’t miss the fantastic antique shopping available throughout the region including Ed’s Editions for rare books or Old Mill Antique Mall for home décor.

Before heading out of town full of memories, swing by Indah Coffee for a little caffeine to keep you perky on your drive home. Their seasonal offerings are sure to be the cherry on top of your 3-day weekend in Columbia SC.
